There has been many attempts at Aliens and Predator games, most of them flops. Developed by Rebellion Developments (who is responsible for the great 1999 game adaption of the same title) and published by Sega, this science fiction action title is a breath of air into the first person shooter genre. Your able to choose between three teams, each with different missions: Colonial Humans, Aliens and Predators. Each of the three have an overlapping storyline.
The game follows the movies with the Aliens and Predators acting as you'd expect in a movie. The Aliens move quickly and fight in close quarters using their tails and claws as weapons. They can see cloaked Predators and attack someone on the other side of a wall. Aliens have the ability to pin down enemies as the facehuggers latch onto their host.

Selecting the Humans gives the player a real first person shooter. Using a variety of hand held weapons, you have motion sensors, and flares to assist you in tracking and killing any enemy you encounter.
Predators rely on stealth rather than point and shoot like in a standard first person shooter. They hide and stalk enemy using hieght as an advantage. Leaping around between trees using the 'focus jumping' game mechanics. Just like in the movies, Predators can take skulls as trophies, this seems a bit violent as human victims have their head decapitated and spines ripped out whilst still gasping for breath. Predators use special vision aides that are collected during the game, some allow the player to see the Humans but make Aliens invisible, and vice versa.

Multiplayer is available with coop 'survival' mode where you and up to three other people run around in a map and battle wave after wave of Aliens. DLC's have also been announced which will add extra maps.
The graphics are up to date and the audio is what you're probably expecting.

For fans of the first person shooter genre, you'd make a good investment in this title. The ability to play from the eyes of three different teams adds to the playability. Make sure you have an up to date machine as a mid to high level gaming machine about 6 months to a year old will lag quite a bit in a few scenes, but tweaking your machine and closing unneeded resources should help.
