This role playing game is one that requires a bit of personal time to sit down and get involved in the great story and gameplay from Bioware and EA games which is described as an 'epic tale of violence, lust, and betrayal'. You first select one of six players and hear their "Origin" story, thse are Human, Elf Mage, Dalish Elf, City Elf, Dwarf Commoner and Dwarf Noble. Each one has different character skills, traits and abilities.
You encounter the Grey Wardens who recruit and guide your progress in order to battle the Darkspawn, a race of ugly creatures that spawn at various times throughout history and cause havok, known as 'the Blights'.

You have a range of characters that follow you aon various quests, each can be given specific move and attack orders, usually the game is paused while the orders are given (specifically attack orders), then play is resumed and those orders are followed.

The Eclipse engine gives an ancient fantasy feel with sometimes simple, someitmes clever AI. The score is professional and the voice acting is often lenghty. There is alot of conversations in the background. You can walk towards a large group and listen for some time as people talk and continue on with their day.
There are many DLC's available that add characters, armour and story lines to the game. The Expansion pack "Awakenings" is due for release in March of 2010.

As previously stated. You need time to sit down and really get into this story and style of gaming. It might not be for everyone, but once you are sucked in, you'll be quite impressed with the highly detailed storyline and action scenes.
