Modern Warfare 2 continues the story line from the first Modern Warfare game. Captain McTavish (Known as Soap in the first game) leads an SAS squad on the trail of terrorist Vladimir Makarov. A Russian that shows loyalty to no flag, being the main antagonist throughout the game. When Moscow blames America for a terrorist atrocity at a Russian airport, a full scale air drop takes place as the Russian invade large areas of the United States, including the capital, Washington DC.

Many of the characters (and their voice actors) return from the first game, some are new characters with easily recognizable performed by Lance Henrickson and Keith David.
The missions take you from Afghanistan, to Kazakhstan, Russia, Brazil, the United States, Georgia then back to Afghanistan as either a United States Marnie or a member of the British SAS. There is also a small scene as an American astronaut on board the International Space Station.

There is a huge selection of guns scattered around, Claymore mines, grenades, flash bangs as usual a well as the ability to control unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV's) in several missions.
Usuing Infinity Wards IW 4.0 engine, the graphics are realistic, the AI life like, often acting independently on each re spawn, and the movement is smooth. The game has the same look and feel of the previous Call Of Duty titles, you'll still hear the incoming missile whistling, the silent shell shocked echo's, and the bullets clanking together as they fall form the gun onto the hard floors.

Players will be disappointed with the lack of dedicated servers. Multiplayer is more exciting than ever before with Search & Destroy, Demolition, Domination, Capture The Flag, Team Deathmatch, and Free for all. Kill streaks are in a similar style to the first Modern Marfare title, with 15 different kills streaks achievements, players can control a missile laden Predator Drone, supply drops, and an AC-130 gunship. There is a player cap of 18.

Modern Warfare 2 is by far the release of 2009. It's also likely to be one of the biggest sellers of all time. All collections should have a copy of this game, the storyline is exciting seat gripping action throughout. This should defiantly be in your collection.
