Based on the huge movie The Godfather Part II, this game has all the usual characters you'd expect. Taking over territories old school gangster style can be fun in this third person shooter from Electronic Arts.
Set in the 50's and 60's you revisit Cuba, New York, and Florida you control upcoming gangster Dominic who is under the control of Michael Corleone after Don Trapini's death.
Starting with the Cuban deal with Hyman Roth (as seen in the movie) you navigate the Corleone's back to relative safety in the United States. Tasked with recruiting soldiers, you take over enemy territories, rob and extort you way into the upper echelons of the criminal underworld.

Like the first Godfather game, you are in a open world map free to walk or drive around with specific tasks and missions, however this time around you also have some extra moves and better controlling.
Downloadable content is available including extra maps and extra crooks, Multiplayer is available with 16 player support on 6 maps with 4 game play modes.

Like the first Godfather game, this title still feels a little strange when compared to free roaming games like Grand Theft Auto IV of even Fallout 3. A little more work could be put in with room for improvement in general handling. Electronic Arts sometimes gets it right, but often appears to just be cashing in on general franchises. This is a great entertaining game no less, if you've grown sick of the other mentioned titles.
