The third instalment in the Brothers in arms series continues from the events in Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 as you fight your way through German resistance as a 101 airborne division Staff Sergeant, Matt Baker in the middle of Operation Market Garden in the later stages of World War II.
Operation Market Garden was a failed plan on September 17, 1944 that involved dropping British and American airborne troops in Holland (the largest air drop ever seen) to secure many bridges so the main grunt of the Army could advance towards the river Rhine. While initially successful, German Panzer reinforcements proved too much for the Allies, with many troops falling captured to the Nazi's.

There are plenty of cutaway videos to watch developing a movie-like 'brotherhood' storyline giving you the realms of battle during the intense moments as you figure out the best way to proceed through the missions flanked by various team mates that you order into location providing a supporting barrage of bullets as you advance between various obstacles that provide cover.
Many new features are included in Brothers in Arms: Hells Highway that make the gameplay slightly different from its predecessors. Finding appropriate cover is necessary, peeking around corners instead of rushing into the enemy for a head on fire fight. A player constantly failing to find cover wont progress too quickly as it's a major part of the gameplay. This also applies to the men you command, positioning them in the open will make your job harder to advance and flank the enemy. They handle themselves fairly well offering the occasional piece of good advice.

Line up a good shot and the camera movements offer an occasional slow motion zoom in of the enemy, letting you bask in the dying glory of those that oppose you. Stunning shadowing and lightning is often scarily realistic. The Unreal Engine 3 has gotten some good use and still doesn't let us down. The sound is what you'd be expecting on the battlefield with different clicks and bangs, relevant to the weapon or explosion.
Multiplayer maps support up to 20 players. Two teams attempt to invade enemy the territory or defend your own. Using a special set of weapons per player, you can get fust4rated by this, not to mention the fact that there are no supported servers, only 3rd party servers that can go offline at any moment. That is if you can find one with an acceptable ping.
Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway is enjoyable as a single player game; World War II titles have been plentiful over the last decade. We are given a new storyline and plot enjoyable for all first person shooter fans. The Multiplayer disappoints with many unfortunate flaws. Certainly a good offering in a theatre that has long been tried.
