Removing Entries From Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features

Sometimes, typically after a Malware infections, you can have old left over entries in Add/Remove programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista) which no longer exist on your computer. You can easily remove them with the following two methods:

Click Start, then Run. Type: regedit and press enter.
when the registry editor opens select Computer and click File, then Export. Save the file somewhere safe (this is essentially a backup of the entire registry in case something goes wrong, you can use this file to fix the problem later).

Navigate to the following entry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall select the value you wish to remove and press the del key to delete it. This second method is much safer strongly recommended as it doesn't opening the registry, or require a registry backup:
Download Hijack This, Install it and run the program.

Open Hijack This and from the main menu click None, just start the program then click the Config button. Select Misc Tools, then Open Uninstall Manager. Select the entry you wish to remove and click Delete this entry.
